How Love Works and Why Love Hurts Workshops

How Love Works and Why Love Hurts Workshops

January 25th – 26th
March 28th – 29th
May 23rd – 24th
Each workshop is an individual workshop.

As babies, we are born with a fundamental human need to love and be loved in return. And as adults, most of us still need to love and be loved in return.

We all enter into new relationships with the best intentions. So why it is that often our hopes turn to disappointment? The truth is that it is not easy to maintain a loving relationship over the long term. If having a fulfilling long-term relationship was easy, we would all be having one, wouldn’t we?

Is it inevitable that our relationships start off great and then gradually deteriorate? Or that the same things we used to love about our partner begin to really annoy us? Do some couples just have all the luck and others don’t?

Or is there something going on which we don’t understand fully?

This workshop will explain the good, the bad and the ugly of our human love connections. How love works, why love hurts and why this pain is actually meant to be helping us maintain our love connection.

There are a predictable set of steps which take us from the good to the bad and then to the ugly. Emotionally Focused Couples’ Therapy explains that if a couple can understand their own journey from the good to the bad and then on to the ugly, the same couple can also learn to reverse this momentum and find their way back to the good and then learn how to thrive there together. It doesn’t have to be a question of luck any more.

The new approach of Emotionally Focused Couples’ Therapy, founded in empirical scientific research, has found that these apply to all relationships regardless of sexual orientation or racial origin.

Most of us have this fundamental human need to love and be loved in return; each one of these workshops will use the EFT approach to support you as a couple to find ways to fulfill your need to love and be loved in return so that you can thrive together.

There will be a maximum of 4 couples per weekend workshop. Each workshop will be held in Central Totnes. Please email me through the “Contact” page for further details.
